An innovative, massive open online program related to the protection against the infection of COVID-19 for tourism businesses in the Ionian Islands, is expected to start soon, following the program contract signed on Tuesday, June 15, between the Ionian University and the Region of the Ionian Islands with Scientific Officer on behalf of the Ionian University, the Associate Professor of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts, Ioannis Deligiannis, who stated that "it is particularly important that the information provided is of high quality, comprehensive, offered openly to everyone and in an understandable, interactive and innovative. The achievement of this project is planned to be implemented with high development standards, it integrates the research process in its design and implementation, setting new foundations regarding how a large part of the population is informed in a timely and valid manner using modern means and IT technologies and communications".
The online information program is organized as a massive open online course (MOOC), an internationally widespread teaching approach, which is used for the first time in the field of education and training in the TIN and aims at comprehensive information, in the scope of the guidelines guidelines and health protocols, which must be followed by businesses in the tourism sector, to protect the health of employees and visitors from COVID-19.
The informative actions, beyond the digital part, also include online meetings, open to the general public, in which the latest developments and updates of the protocols are presented, with the participants being able to ask questions.
